Circuit Preview Bahrain

Circuit Preview Bahrain

For the opening race of the season we're off this year to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Here, ‘set into the sand’ lies the Sakhir Circuit beneath the desert sun. And off we go into the first corner, a tricky affair, especially on the exit. As that decides who’ll emerge best onto the long straight that follows and be the quickest to reach top speed. The drivers accelerate here to 300 km/h, still doing 110 around turn 4 – despite unpredictable track adhesion. Fine desert sand impairs the tyres’ grip.

Experience the circuit out of the drivers' perspective!

Welcome to the new Formula1 season and welcome to the first Grand Prix on the Bahrain Sakhir Circuit. Like every year there are a few new regulations the drivers and teams have to get to grips with. The most important is definitely that no refuelling is allowed anymore during the entire length of the race. Another obvious change is that the front tyres are about 2,5 cm narrower which will affect the cars set up an awful lot.
Also the minimal weight of a Formula1 car is now 620 kilogram, 15kilo more than last year

AT&T Williams driver Nico Hülkenberg and F1 expert Christian Danner explain the new regulations.

Audi Winter Camp Feature - English

When Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich assembles his “factory” drivers for a whole week at the “Sonnenalp” resort in Bavaria’s “Allgäu” region, this is a clear sign that the new motorsport season is just around the corner.

The traditional “Audi Winter Camp” under the medical supervision of team physician Dr. Christian John was again mainly focused on team building and fitness. But the fun factor played a part in the activities as well – for instance, while the squad tried out its curling skills or took part in a joint cooking course.
